About Dr. Jacobs

Dr. Ryan Jacobs is a board-certified hematologist and medical oncologist specializing in the treatment of blood cancers, with a focus on chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) and lymphoma. He serves as the clinical director of the Lymphoma Division at Atrium Health Levine Cancer and holds the position of associate professor of medicine at Wake Forest University School of Medicine.

Dr. Jacobs is deeply committed to advancing care for patients with hematologic malignancies. He is particularly engaged in clinical research around targeted therapies and time-defined treatment approaches in CLL. His clinical expertise is matched by a strong foundation in academic medicine and a passion for translating emerging science into patient-centered care.

He earned his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine after completing his undergraduate studies at Texas Tech University. He went on to complete an internal medicine residency at Vanderbilt University and a fellowship in hematology-oncology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, one of the nation’s leading cancer institutions.

In addition to his work in oncology, Dr. Jacobs enjoys an active personal life with his wife and two children. His hobbies include hiking, reading, and watching movies—activities that keep him grounded and energized outside of clinical practice.

Dr. Jacobs is also certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both hematology and medical oncology.
